The Atafona House is part of the Rural Tourism Enterprise called "Casal do Vulcão", located in the parish of Capelo.

The name "Casal do Vulcão" comes from the position of the houses and the building, located in the place of Canto, near the Capelinhos volcano.

The Atafona House was where the family's corn and cereals were kept, on the upper floor, and where the domestic animals and cattle slept, on the lower floor. Now it has 3 bedrooms, a TV room, a dining room, a complete kitchen and two bathrooms, in a total area of 126m2.
